Aston Villa have set an asking price of £6 million for Scott Sinclair as Celtic eye a move for the player this summer, reports the Daily Mail.
New Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wants to make Sinclair his first signing at the club as he looks to overhaul the squad he inherited from Ronny Deila.

He has already made a bid for his services, offering £2million plus add-ons, an offer that was swiftly rejected by Roberto di Matteo’s side.
Instead they want as much as £6million for Sinclair before they will sanction a move to the Scottish Premiership champions.
That would be a big price for the Hoops to pay for the winger and would match the club record transfer fee paid for John Hartson in 2001.

Rodgers does have money available to him according to the Daily Mail, and an improved bid for Sinclair is expected. Whether that matches Aston Villa’s asking price remains to be seen.
It may not be the only major stumbling block to a move, with Sinclair’s current wages of £60,000-per-week also likely to be tricky for Celtic to match.
