Newly-signed Rangers attacking midfielder Niko Kranjcar has told Sky Sports that Joey Barton is underrated.
Barton recently joined Scottish giants Rangers on a free transfer after leaving Premier League-bound Burnley.
The former Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers midfielder was one of the best players in the Championship last season.
Kranjcar, who played with Barton at QPR, has also recently joined the Gers, who will feature in the Scottish Premiership next season after winning the Scottish Championship title during the 2015-16 campaign.
The 31-year-old Croatian attacking midfielder has spoken highly of Barton, and has claimed that the former Newcastle and Manchester City midfielder is underrated.
“It has been so well reported and said what Joey can bring; probably the most underrated player I have played with because his ability is really up there with the best,” Kranjcar told Sky Sports about Barton.
"His character, I think everybody knows that he is going to bring more, he is going to give everything to win a football game so I think he is a great fit for the club."
Barton scored three goals and created 29 chances in 38 Championship appearances for Burnley last season.
The 33-year-old Englishman had a pass accuracy of 75% and a shot accuracy of 31%, and won 67 headers, 15 dribbles and 82 tackles.
Rangers will be aiming to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title during the 2016-17 campaign.
The Gers have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far, and perhaps more signings will be made by the Ibrox outfit before the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
