Victor Wanyama's move to Tottenham was confirmed by the club last night, becoming their very first summer signing.
The Kenyan ace has been at Southampton since 2013 and will aim to settle instantly at Tottenham.
Wanyama has been performing at a high level for the Saints over the past year, and figures show that defensively, he outperformed Chelsea ace Nemanja Matic, regarded as one of, if not the best, players in the position in the Premier League.
|Team||Passing Accuracy||Won Tackles per game||Interceptions per game||Ball Recoveries per game||Key Passes per game||Goals||Appearances|

While Nemanja Matic has a narrowly higher pass completion rate (88 per cent to 82 per cent), Wanyama performs better in three key areas.
He records more tackles, more interceptions and more ball recoveries per game than the Chelsea ace, demonstrating his not just his combative nature and willingness to get stuck in, but an effectiveness in doing so.

Tottenham's players are looking forward to exacting revenge over Chelsea after they ended their title challenge last season - and took pleasure in doing so.
With Wanyama on board they have a player who will make them even more fearsome, added into the mix with Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele.
As good as Matic is, Chelsea will need to make sure he has extra help alongside him when he takes on Tottenham next season.
