Quoted by the Daily Star, former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has described it as madness that Adam Lallana is in the England team.

The Liverpool man is currently a part of England’s squad that is competing at Euro 2016 after a strong year under Jurgen Klopp.

He has started in two of England’s games so far as they won one and drew two of their group to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament.

He has not performed poorly, but has also failed to shine as the Three Lions have struggled to find their best form in France.

And Yorke has not been impressed, saying it is madness that Lallana is a regular in Roy Hodgson’s England teams.

"I know it's all about opinion but Lallana gives me nothing,” the Daily Star quotes him saying.

“He has proven it in the two games he's played; he has not scored, he has not created a goal Listen the guy is a decent player, but you are talking about the first eleven for England and he's in it. It's madness.”

It will be interesting to see if Lallana remains as a first team regular as England look to go far in the group stages.

Given how they have performed in the group stages, there is every chance that Roy Hodgson may ring the changes for the latter stages of the tournament.

Should that be his decision, Lallana may be one that is cut given the indifferent performances he has put in so far.
