West Ham United hero Dimitri Payet has been included in quite possibly the best five-a-side team on the planet.

West Ham's new hero has carried on where he left off for his club last season with two dazzling displays including an assist and two fantastic goals at Euro 2016 so far.

After setting up Arsenal's Olivier Giroud, Payet netted a world class winner in a 2-1 triumph over Romania in the hosts' first game.

And he was at it again as his quick feet put the seal on another victory with a fine goal in the 2-0 win over Albania.

Such is his elevated level of importance to France, Payet was rested by Didier Deschamps for the final group game, a 0-0 draw with Switzerland.

But even in that match he was introduced as a substitute and almost got another stunning winner only for his side-foot volley to crash off the underside of the crossbar.

This week one of his amazing goals from a training match has been posted out on social media to see his stock rise further still.

Payet is first outfield player on Balague's teamsheet

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has been keeping a close eye on the tournament and was asked to name a five-a-side team of players involved in Euro 2016, as reported by Sky Sports.

And Payet was the first outfield player on his teamsheet as he named Manchester United and Spain goalkeeper David de Gea, Hammers hero Payet, De Gea's Red Devils teammate Wayne Rooney, Juventus and France midfielder Paul Pogba and Spain great Andres Iniesta.

It is quite an honour for Payet and West Ham fans have loved watching their main man proving them right by showing he is truly world class.

'Payet the standout star'

Balague also went on to nominate him as the standout player of the tournament so far.

"I think Payet in a way has surprised many," Balague told Sky Sports.

"Not even Didier Deschamps counted on him as a regular in the France line-up.

"So I think that's one. A lot of people have been surprised by Iniesta as well, which surprises me! Marek Hamsik has been doing well, too."
