Scunthorpe United goalkeeper Luke Daniels has emerged as a target for a number of Premier League and Championship clubs, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Daniels has impressed at Scunthorpe since joining the club from West Bromwich Albion in January 2015 and his performances have not gone unnoticed.

The 28-year-old kept 18 clean sheets in 44 games for Scunthorpe last season as they just missed out on the play-offs in League One.

Daniels joined West Brom after being released by Manchester United in 2004, but he found his first-team opportunities due to the form of Ben Foster and Boaz Myhill.

The 6ft, 4in keeper made just one Premier League appearance during his 11 years at the Hawthorns and he played for seven other clubs on loan during his time at West Brom.

Daniels has shown his talents after getting a regular run in the side at Scunthorpe and his displays have brought him to the attention of clubs higher up the football pyramid.

Swansea are keeping tabs on Daniels as they look to bring in a No2 for Łukasz Fabiański, while Championship duo Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End are also weighing up moves for Daniels as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options.Notts County's Jordan Williams in action with Scunthorpe United's Luke Daniels and Paddy MaddenNotts County's Jordan Williams in action with Scunthorpe United's Luke Daniels and Paddy Madden
