Scott Sinclair’s wages at Aston Villa could be another stumbling block to a move to Celtic, reports the Daily Mail.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring the winger to Paradise this summer and make him his first signing at Celtic manager. He has already bid £2million for his services, an offer which has been swiftly rejected by Roberto di Matteo’s side.

According to the Daily Mail, the Scottish Premiership champions will have to significantly up that bid if they are to capture the 27-year-old this summer.

As far as they are concerned, the two sides are currently ‘miles apart’ in their valuation of the player at this moment in time. However, there may be a further complication to a potential move and that is his current wage packet at Villa Park.

According to the same report, Sinclair’s current contract sees him bring home around £60,000-per-week and that is a wage Celtic would not be able to match.

Their current highest earner is Scott Brown on £25,000-per-week, according to the Daily Star, meaning Sinclair would have to take a significant cut were he to move to Paradise this summer.
