Liverpool will refuse to pay the £10million asking price for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds made a move for the highly rated youngster this week, offering £5million plus £2million in add-ons for his services.

The Premier League champions are desperate to hold on to their highly rated youngster though and swiftly rejected that bid outright.

Chilwell is reportedly keen on the move, with Jurgen Klopp wanting to add him to his current squad to compete with Alberto Moreno for the left back spot.

However, any deal is currently stuck as Liverpool will refuse to pay the £10million that Leicester are asking for their man, according to the Liverpool Echo.

They believe that price is too much for a 19-year-old who is yet to make his Premier League debut for his current club. Should the situation fail to change, the Reds will look to other potential targets to fill that left back slot instead.

Who that is remains to be seen, with the race for Chilwell sure to have more twists and turns before the end of the transfer window.
