Never before seen video shows West Ham and Tottenham legends on eve of 1966 World Cup final

A never before seen video of West Ham United's 1966 World Cup winning trio and Tottenham Hotspur legend Jimmy Greaves has emerged half a century on.

Given the fact 50 years have passed and sadly so has the omnipresent Moore, West Ham's greatest son, you would expect to have read, seen and heard everything of note from the nation's finest sporting hour.

Well this week David Parker, who lives in South London, sprung a surprise when he uncovered an old film he took during his stint as a groundsman at the Bank of England Sports Ground at the time.

Captain Moore, manager Alf Ramsey and the rest of the England squad were staying there for the duration of the tournament and everything was kept strictly under wraps.

That was until the eve of the World Cup final against the Germans, when David - whose footage was shown on BBC's The One Show on Thursday night - took some video on his camera.

"It's been tucked away in the wardrobe really for about 50 years," David told The One Show.

In the video Moore, hat-trick hero and Hammers teammate Hurst, the third West Ham player and other goalscorer Martin Peters can be seen playing cricket and golf as they tried to relax ahead of the biggest moment of their lives.

Spurs hero Jimmy Greaves also features heavily in the footage, which shows him sharing a joke with Moore and his teammates ahead of a trip to a cinema where he was told he would not start the final.

Former Manchester United hero Nobby Stiles also features in the interesting clip.
