The West Ham United defender has joined on a season long loan deal.
The defender completed a temporary switch on Tuesday, signing a deal that will see him at Ewood Park for next season.
He failed to break into the first-team set up and instead had to content himself with under-21 football and a short stint on loan at Southend United.
And he says he cannot wait to get started at the club as they look to be contenders under Owen Coyle next season.
“I’m absolutely delighted to put pen to paper,” he told rovers.co.uk. Obviously it’s a massive club, it's going places and I'm buzzing to be here and I can't get wait to get started."
It will certainly be interesting to see how well Rovers can do under Coyle with the pressure firmly on their shoulders.
His appointment has hardly been met with widespread optimism, with his time at both Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic having tarnished his reputation somewhat.
They will be keen to prove the doubters wrong and Hendrie will be hoping for regular game time in what is likely to be an exciting Championship campaign.
