Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of Antonio Sanabria is nearing success, with a fee reportedly agreed with Roma.

Gazzetta dello Sport report Spurs have agreed to meet Roma's asking price of 15 million Euros (£11.5m).

The Italian outlet also claim, as they did earlier in the day, that Spurs have agreed personal terms with the Paraguayan striker.

Sanabria did not really get a chance at Roma after signing from Barcelona in 2014, but impressed in La Liga last season on loan for Sporting Gijon, scoring 11 times, and the Italian side have decided to cash in.

It is reported that Spurs faced late competition from Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan who matched their offer, but the striker's mind had already been made up to switch to North London.

Roma are already reportedly planning to re-invest the money in a full-back, and have made a tidy profit on a player, who cost them just £3 million from Barcelona, plus bonuses which have not been met.

Sanabria is just 20-years-old and has already represented his country, and will be able to learn behind Harry Kane at Tottenham, while also getting the chance to play Champions League football.

Spurs are yet to confirm the deal at their end.
