Danny Williams of Reading celebrates scoring
According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Sunderland have all made enquiries about signing Reading midfielder Danny Williams.
United States international Williams, 27, was born in Germany and had spells with Karlsruhe, Freiburg and Hoffenheim before moving on to Reading back in the summer of 2013.
An athletic midfielder, Williams has been a mainstay of the Reading side ever since his move, and enjoyed his best season with the Royals last season.
With six goals in all competitions, Williams starred under Steve Clarke and Brian McDermott - and appears to have attracted major interest in his signature.
The Daily Mail report that Aston Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland have all contacted Williams' representatives to gauge the possibility of a summer transfer.
Villa have already made one summer signing with Bournemouth centre back Tommy Elphick, and manager Roberto Di Matteo may be looking to snap up another tried and tested Championship player in Williams - who worked under Villa assistant Steve Clarke at Reading.
Newcastle will also be hoping to land proven Championship players this summer, and the athletic Williams could fit the bill given that there are questions over the futures of both Cheick Tiote and Henri Saivet.
Finally, Sunderland are searching for new signings this summer having survived relegation to the Championship, and with Yann M'Vila's loan spell over, manager Sam Allardyce may be looking for a replacement - and Williams may well fit the bill.
