Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has confirmed to the Scottish Herald that his side are making progress with a number of transfer targets, but he would not confirm whether Niko Kranjcar was on the verge of a move to Ibrox.
Rangers have been linked with a whole host of players this summer, but it is thought they are closing in on a deal for Kranjcar.
The Croatian international is reportedly set to sign for Rangers before the end of the week, but Warburton would not be drawn on whether these rumours are true.
“He (Kranjcar) is one of a number of players we have been linked with,” he said. “We are making progress on a number of fronts. I’m not talking about individual players. We have to do our business and when it’s the right time, we can announce it.”
Rangers have already been active in the transfer window, bringing in a host of new players.
The Glasgow side have snapped up five new players already - with Joey Barton, Clint Hill, Jordan Rossiter, Matt Crooks and Josh Windass all signing deals at Ibrox.
Rangers are expected to continue to invest, as Warburton looks to add strength in depth to his squad.
Kranjcar spent last season at American side New York Cosmos, but his contract there has expired - meaning he is available for Rangers to sign on a free.
