Celtic supporters are desperate for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen to sign for them.
Allen has played under Brendan Rodgers at both Liverpool and Swansea City, and there have been rumours that the Welsh international could move to Parkhead this summer.
The transfer would be a major coup for Celtic, and Rodgers would not rule out signing the midfielder when asked about the links yesterday.
He said: ''Joe is a wonderful player.. I always look at all my former players.’’
Allen is not a permanent starter for Liverpool, but he has been in impressive form since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp.
The 26-year-old set Liverpool back nearly £15 million when they signed him, and Celtic would likely have to invest big money if they did want to complete a deal.
Allen made 17 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season, and he hit the back of the net on two occasions.
Celtic fans have seen enough to suggest that Allen would be a marquee signing for them if they were able to complete the deal.
And with the rumours linking Allen to Celtic only becoming more frequent, there is now genuine hope on social media site Twitter that a deal could be possible.
