Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Manchester City have made an offer for Celta Vigo ace Nolito while Barcelona consider making a move.
The 29-year-old has emerged as one of Spain’s top forwards in recent seasons, scoring 39 La Liga goals in his last 100 appearances for Celta following his move from Andalusa-based side Granada.
Nolito has been rewarded for his progression with a place n Spain’s European Championship squad, and he made his mark with a superb goal during his side’s 3-0 win over Turkey last week.
The Hammers are intent on signing a new forward this summer, though their chances of luring Nolito to East London are looking slim at present as Barcelona and Manchester City step up their interest.
Manchester City has made an offer for Nolito. He's thinking about it as FCB still debating if it's a good idea to sign him— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) 21 de junio de 2016
According to the tweet by Guillem Balague, it appears City boss Pep Guardiola sees the forward as an ideal option this summer and a potential bargain too as Nolito enters the last 12 months of his contract in Vigo.
The former Benfica man has been compared to David Villa due to his stature, playing style and knack of scoring important goals, and he’s a player who has the ability to thrive at the Etihad Stadium.
