With the Daily Mirror suggesting that Ryan Giggs is set to become Nottingham Forest’s next manager, we take a look at three Manchester United players he could sign.

James Wilson

Giggs was the man who handed Wilson his senior debut at United, and he is a known admirer of the England youth international’s talent.

Wilson’s career has stalled slightly in recent seasons, and his loan spell at Brighton last season was not as productive as many predicted.

The Red Devils are reportedly keen to loan Wilson out again next term, and Forest could well be keen to join the queue of Championship sides trying to sign the youngster.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

Borthwick-Jackson showed a great deal of promise during his showings for United last season, but his game time could be more limited now Jose Mourinho is in charge.

Mourinho generally has trusted experience over youth during his managerial career, and Borthwick-Jackson is likely to be handed a covering role.

United are likely to feel the 19-year-old’s development would be better served out on loan, and it would not be a surprise to see Forest make an offer.

Paddy McNair

At the age of 21, McNair is now reaching a stage where he needs to be playing first-team football.

It seems unlikely that the Northern Ireland international will become a regular in United’s senior squad, but he surely would be a good addition for a Championship side.

McNair has made 27 appearances for United’s senior squad to date, but he could up for sale this summer.
