Southampton's Victor Wanyama shoots at goal

Tottenham Hotspur's Sandro (L) and Benfica's Enzo Perez in action
The trajectory of Sandro's career since his departure has made Tottenham's decision to let him go seem a wise one, but at the time it was controversial.
Sandro was nicknamed 'The Beast' by fans and had a real rapport with supporters. His displays in their Champions League campaign in 2010/11 were outstanding and right up until a serious knee injury sustained in early 2013, he was in superb form.

Potential new addition Wanyama has had the same label lauded upon him, with his former boss at Celtic, Neil Lennon hailing him after a Champions League fixture against Barcelona in 2012.
He told the Evening Times: "Victor Wanyama is world class. Just world class. Listen, in that company we had a beast in there."

Wanyama is an uncompromising tackler and like Sandro, is just as entertaining off the field too, as shown by his unexpected visit to the Kamiti Maximum Prison in Nairobi to talk to inmates last week, reported by SuperSport.
While Sandro leaving may have been the right move even if it was not a popular one, finally they may have found an ideal replacement.
