Speaking to Sport Ivoire, former Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has gone on to hail his Ivory Coast compatriot Eric Bailly.

Jose Mourinho completed his first piece of business as manager of Manchester United by acquiring the services of defender Bailly from Villarreal earlier this summer.

Bailly arrived at United for a fee believed to be in the region of around £30 million and there will most certainly be a huge sense of expectation on the shoulders of the young defender as a result.

Having made only 51 professional appearances in his club career, it will be interesting to see if Bailly will be able to justify his massive price tag at Old Trafford.

Nonetheless, the 22-year-old has received rave reviews from many in Spain and now former Liverpool star Kolo Toure has gone on to praise the new United signing.

Toure stated that the people in Ivory Coast are very proud regarding Bailly’s move to England and has hinted that the level headed defender can prove to be a success at United.

The 35-year-old told Sport Ivoire: "We’re proud of Eric. We're all very happy for his move to Manchester United. He's a calm guy who works a lot, and today, this work has been noticed by one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It's the whole country who's honoured."

While the price tag will surely be a daunting one to justify for Bailly, one can be sure that he will be helped by working under the tutelage of a tactical genius like Mourinho.
