Robbie Savage says these two Tottenham ace's should rip Hodgson's door off after omission

Robbie Savage has ripped into England boss Roy Hodgson's team selection against Slovakia, and believes Tottenham duo Kyle Walker and Danny Rose should be particularly aggrieved.

Speaking to The Mirror, Savage argued that Hodgson's gamble backfired, with England drawing 0-0 and Wales leapfrogging them to top the group.

Walker and Rose are England's first choice full backs and were two of four Tottenham stars left out for the fixture.

Savage said the duo should be looking for answers, stating: "Kyle Walker and Danny Rose have only just established themselves as first-choice full-backs – why 'rest' them too?

"If I had been Walker or Rose, I would have been ripping the door off Hodgson's room in the team hotel to ask what he was doing."

The Welshman went onto suggest that Hodgson's decisions could cost him his job, and certainly as a result of finishing second in the group, England have landed themselves a far tougher route, with France, Spain and Italy all in their half of the draw.

England kept a clean sheet in the match with Slovakia, who posed little threat, which they have not done so far in the tournament.

Yet where Walker and Rose really come into their own is when they get forward to attack, with Walker particularly outstanding in the first two games.

Their runs forward and crosses were missed against Slovakia, and it is likely they will be back in the side for the last 16 fixture next Monday.
