Speaking to Spanish newspaper Las Provincias, Liverpool youngster Pedro Chirivella has explained where Jurgen Klopp wants him to improve.

The German is well known for wanting to develop youth, having done so extensively during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

It is something he clearly wants to continue at Anfield too, with last season seeing a number of youngster given the chance to shine in the first team.

Chirivella is one of those, making his Premier League debut at the beginning of May in the 3-1 loss to Swansea City.

The Spaniard is one for the future at the club, and says that Klopp has explained the areas where he wants to see him improve in future.

“The truth is that from day one he has given me a lot of confidence,” he told Las Provincias.

“He talks a lot with me, what needs to be improved, and is very supportive. He says that I have to improve without the ball, and then I have everything, but he is happy. He wants me to press without the ball even more.”

It will be interesting to see how many youngsters are still afforded first team roles next season once Klopp has done work in the transfer window.

He was keen to give youth a chance last season, but that was largely down to the lack of options he had available to him.

This window is likely to see a number of new faces arrive, and that could see youth pushed aside, especially if they harbor reams of a top four finish.
