LeBron James is now a three time NBA champion after a magical Game 7 win against Golden State - but what does the future hold for him?

While LeBron basks in the glory of delivering a championship to his hometown, rumours are already beginning surrounding his future.

LeBron has the right in his contract to opt out of his deal in Cleveland this summer, although there is plenty of reason to want to stick around and bask in the glory.

Speaking on ESPN's First Take (21/6), Stephen A Smith said he knows LeBron James will have options, including a return to Miami Heat, where he won two titles previously.

Yet the most intriguing option may be replacing Kobe Bryant in LA, joining the Lakers.

He said: "Miami believes there's a shot, I'm also hearing there's a huge, huge, possibility if indeed he decides to depart from Cleveland, that the Los Angeles Lakers will be in the mix.

"There is some changes that LeBron would want made if he is going to go to LA and wear the purple and gold. He obviously has aspirations beyond basketball, being in the Los Angeles market could facilitate all of that."

The Lakers are no longer the big dominant team they once were in the NBA, finishing the season with a wretched 17-65 record, bottom of the Western Conference.

LeBron's arrival could change all that and attract further superstars to join the team, and with Kevin Durant entering free agency, this is one to watch.
