Ukraine's Olexandr Kucher and Poland's Piotr Zielinski in action
Poland beat Ukraine 1-0 in Marseille today to rubber-stamp their passage into the last 16 of the European Championships - and Liverpool fans were watching with interest.
After beating Northern Ireland 1-0 and drawing 0-0 with Germany, Poland kept yet another clean sheet and have yet to concede a goal at Euro 2016 after today's win.
Jakub Blaszczykowski's second half goal handed Poland the win, and they will now meet Switzerland in Saint-Etienne on Saturday for a place in the quarter final.
Adam Nawalka made some changes to his side with Poland already virtually through before the game even kicked off, as the likes of Thiago Cionek and Tomasz Jodlowiec started, as well as midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
Udinese man Zielinski has become well-known name in England this summer, as The Guardian recently reported that Liverpool have made a £9.5m bid for the 22-year-old prospect in a protracted saga.
Facing Ukraine was Zielinski's first football of Euro 2016, but it didn't go as planned for him, as he was substituted at half-time in favour of match-winner Blaszczykowski.
Liverpool fans took to Twitter during and after the game to discuss Zielinski's display, and it's fair to say that they were left underwhelmed by his performance.
Fans can't understand why Jurgen Klopp wants to bring Zielinski to Anfield when the club already have Joe Allen in the ranks, and whilst it was only 45 minutes of action, the general consensus was that Liverpool fans don't want to see Zielinski arrive this summer.
Here are some of the reactions from Liverpool fans after Zielinski's performance for Poland against Ukraine on Tuesday evening...
Zielinski is not a bad player but i don't see why we'd pay £10m for him when we're letting Joe Allen go and he's a much better player #LFC— Col Wilson JFT96 (@DejLovrenIsBoss) June 21, 2016
Seems like Zielinski didn't make much of an impact, still believe he would be good but not convinced yet #LFC— Harry (@FlashyFirmino) June 21, 2016
First time watching Zielinski, and I was very underwhelmed. #LFC— Peter Rey (@ElReyLFC) June 21, 2016
Zielinski Struggled the get the ball past the first man in a free kick. He'll fit right in #LFC— Brian LFC (@jagusak) June 21, 2016
Selling Allen for £10M and buying Zielinski for £10M is a horrific error.— Matthew Ordish (@AnfieldMatt) June 21, 2016
I'd rather keep Allen than get Zielinski.— Ben Arthurs (@BenArthurs94) June 21, 2016
Please don't let us sign Zielinski— Mamadou (@RioDeJoeGomez) June 21, 2016
