The Liverpool midfielder reflected on a remarkable night for Welsh football.
Allen provided the assist for Aaron Ramsey to open the scoring as Wales topped Group with a 3-0 win in Toulouse on an historic night for Welsh football.
The midfielder told reporters after the game, as reported by the official Liverpool website: “What a night, one I’ll never forget.
“I thought we started the game so well and from start to finish, we thoroughly deserved the win. To win in style like that is a special moment for Welsh football.”
It was certainly one of the better displays across the entire tournament so far, with Wales in line to face one of the third-placed sides in Paris on Saturday.
Allen has been one of the star performers during their campaign so far. He picked up the man of the match award in their opening game win over Slovakia and was effective in the middle of the park in the defeat to England before his contribution against Russia, which saw him get a terrific ovation from the fans as he was substituted in the second half.
While a lot of the focus is on the wonderful talent that is Gareth Bale - who became the tournament's top scorer with his third goal in as many games last night - Allen has shown how important he is to the side. The Wales side is made up of some very good footballers providing that platform for their star man to shine.
