Everton have shown a lot of ambition by splashing big bucks to secure the services of Ronald Koeman recently.
Koeman is arguably one of the most respected managers in Europe and the Goodison Park faithful are now very excited that the Dutchman will be able to turn Everton into a major European force in the foreseeable future.
That being said, Koeman will need backing in the transfer market in order to turn Everton into Champions League contenders and the club’s billionaire owner Farhad Moshiri is believed to be ready to bring his cheque book out this summer.
A host of high profile names have been linked with a move to Everton over the past few weeks and recently, the club faithful have pleaded with Koeman to consider a move for Manchester United star Juan Mata.
New United manager Jose Mourinho unceremoniously dumped Mata during their time at Chelsea and it is widely believed that the Portuguese tactician will look to do the same at Old Trafford as the 28-year-old does not fit in his system.
Due to his potential availability, a number of clubs are unsurprisingly keen on signing Mata and the bookies feel that the former Valencia star may remain in the Premier League by joining the Koeman revolution at Everton.
Mata’s potential move to Everton has been gaining traction at the moment and SkyBet certainly believe that the Spaniard’s move to Goodison Park is a huge possibility, cutting his odds to 2/1 on Monday.
Mata is arguably one of the most technically gifted players in world football at the moment and the £37 million rated star would undoubtedly be a brilliant signing for the Toffees.
The likes of Barcelona (6/1), Paris-Saint Germain (8/1), Atletico Madrid (10/1) and Valencia (10/1) have been mooted as the other possible destinations for Mata.
