Derby's Jake Buxton is linked with a move to Wigan
Jake Buxton has been linked with a switch to the Latics, having featured only sparingly this season, making only three appearances for the East Midlands club.
Wigan are keen to bolster their side following promotion back to the Championship, and they have already signed Rams defender Stephen Warnock.
Stephen Warnock has joined Wigan permanently
Warnock, who has played for a number of Football League clubs during his 14 year career – including Liverpool and Leeds United – joined Wigan on a free transfer after his contract expired with the Rams.

He had spent the back end of last season on loan at Wigan, making 11 appearances to aid their promotion cause.
And whilst they may have sold their left back position, Wigan manager Gary Caldwell has now turned his attention to his own former playing position at centre-half, and Jake Buxton is apparently in his sights.
Wigan have made back to the Championship at the first time of asking
Buxton, 31, spent the bulk of his career with lower league and now Conference side Mansfield Town, coming through the youth set-up at Field Mill before playing for the Stags until 2008. In 2009, he was picked up by Derby, and over the past seven years he has made over 130 appearances.
But the loyal Rams servant may be about to make his first move away from the East Midlands, should Wigan turn their interest into an offer.
