Franco Vazquez is in talks with West Bromwich Albion about a possible move to the Hawthorns, Palermo's vice-president has confirmed to Football Italia.

Guglielmo Micciche has said that the attacking midfielder is in discussions with a number of Premier League clubs, with West Brom among them.

The Argentine-born Italian has emerged as a shining light from Palermo's struggles, becoming one of Serie A's most coveted talents, scoring eight goals and making seven assists last season, building on his ten goals and ten assists from the 2014-2015 campaign.

With Palermo struggling yet again last season, and only narrowly avoiding the drop, Vazquez may now look to challenge himself at a bigger club.

And Micciche has confirmed that the sitution is moving forward with regards to a potential transfer elsewhere.

“Our sporting director, [Rino] Foschi informed us that he’s in talks with some English clubs regarding Franco Vazquez,” Micciche confirmed to Football Italia.

“I think WBA are among those. The discussions are moving forward. The President [Maurizio Zamparini] has established a price which is, in our view, appropriate for the player’s value.

“The more plausible idea is a sale abroad, because it’s hard for someone in Italy to meet Palermo’s demands.

“Milan? I can confirm that there were talks with Milan, but the phase Milan are going through [negotiations for a sale] is slowing things down and could be a detterent.

“Vazquez is aware of the possibility of a move to the Premier League, and has given his availability for a transfer abroad.”

Vazquez has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks, including Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham.
