The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder shone against the Republic of Ireland at the weekend.
After Marc Wilmots’ side crashed to defeat in that encounter, the midfielder was restored to the starting line-up and he excelled in a 3-0 victory against the Republic of Ireland that gave his side a great chance of qualifying for the first knock-out stage.
The Tottenham star featured for 56 minutes against Martin O’Neill’s men, recording a 100 per cent passing accuracy and a 100 per cent take-on success.
In short, Dembele has taken the form that has so endeared him to Tottenham fans this season on to the international stage, and he will surely start the vital clash against Sweden that will be make-or-break for a side tipped for great things at this tournament.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what fans thought of Dembele’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Mousa Dembélé is #BEL best player behind Kevin de Bruyne.— Michaelis Targaryen (@MeisterGarrick) June 18, 2016
I've never been a big fan of Wilmonts but he deserves credit for the changes he made in the starting 11 ... Munier and Dembele were superb— Yacoub AlRifae (@YacoubAlRifae) June 18, 2016
Dembele is such a great player— Jaden whyte (@Jadenweatherman) June 18, 2016
Witsel makes it 2. This could get ugly. Carrasco, Meunier, Dembele (before he went off) all been great. De Bruyne thru the mid, outstanding.— Gareth Wheeler (@WheelerTSN) June 18, 2016
Wow if Dembele is injured, Belgium are finished— Patrick Jane (@Mukk_) June 18, 2016
