Feghouli has joined West Ham on a free transfer after leaving Spanish club Valencia at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The Algeria international winger will enhance the quality of the current Hammers’ squad and will be expected to create a lot of chances next season.
Gold has claimed that the signing of the highly-rated 26-year-old shows the ambition of West Ham.
“We have already signed Norway international Havard Nordtveit and the arrival of Feghouli shows the ambition we have got and this is a steady progress,” Gold wrote on West Ham’s official website. “We want to bring in players who will add to our squad and only make us stronger for next season.”
Feghouli scored one goal and created 26 chances in 21 La Liga appearances for Valencia last season.
During the 2014-15 campaign, the Algeria international winger scored six goals and created 27 chances in 32 league matches.
The former Grenoble attacker is highly rated and was linked with a number of top clubs in Europe before his switch to West Ham.
Back in March, Calciomercato.com claimed that Feghouli had offers from Inter Milan, AS Roma, Juventus and Manchester United.
The signing of Feghouli on a free in the summer transfer window is a coup for West Ham, and it does show the London club’s ambition for the coming years.
