Niko Kranjcar - Tottenham Hotspur warms up

Southampton forward Charlie Austin has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that Rangers are set to sign his former Queens Park Rangers teammate Niko Kranjcar.

According to the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s lawyer, Emil Zgur, as quoted by BBC Sport, Kranjcar will arrive in Glasgow on Wednesday for a medical ahead of a move to Scottish Premiership-bound Rangers.

The Croatian midfielder will sign a two-year contract with the Scottish giants, claims BBC Sport.

Kranjcar is a free agent at the moment following a spell at New York Cosmos, according to BBC Sport.

Austin played with Kranjcar at London club QPR, and the Southampton forward has suggested on Twitter that the 31-year-old attacking midfielder would be a good signing for Rangers.

Rangers won the Scottish Championship title with ease last season and will feature in the Scottish Premiership during the 2016-17 campaign.

The Gers have already signed experienced players and former QPR stars Joey Barton and Clint Hill in the summer transfer window.
