According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Swansea City have joined the race to sign Simone Zaza.

The report claims that the Juventus man is also wanted by fellow Premier League sides Everton, West Ham United and Southampton as the race to sign him becomes more intense.

Swansea looked for spells last season like they could be in relegation trouble, yet a superb run of form in the second half of the campaign saw the Welsh side move safely in to a midtable position.

The Swans’ turnaround was largely as a result of the appointment of manager Francesco Guidolin, the Italian taking over from Gary Monk and immediately prompting an improvement on the pitch.

The former Udinese man signed Alberto Paloschi during the January transfer window, yet the forward looks to be making a swift return to Serie A which would leave the club a void to fill upfront.

Guidolin has many contacts in Italy, and he will know all about Zaza’s ability during his time in Serie A.

The Italy international struggled for game time in Turin, starting just five Serie A games all season as he spent the majority of the campaign behind the likes of Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Morata in the pecking order.

Zaza, 24, would be a superb addition for the Swans but they have plenty of competition for his signature.
