The Tottenham Hotspur man was on target again for Argentina.
Argentina thumped Venezuela 4-1 on Sunday morning to reach the semi-finals of the Copa America Centenario.
Two goals from Gonzalo Higuain at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts helped Argentina into a comfortable 2-0 half-time lead.
Barcelona's Lionel Messi added a third on the hour mark, before Tottenham Hotspur ace Erik Lamela - who replaced Nicolas Gaitan on 68 minutes - added a fourth after Salomon Rondon pulled one back for Venezuela.
It was the 24-year-old's second goal this week after also netting in the 3-0 win over Bolivia, and Tottenham fans were as ever delighted for the talented winger.
So happy that Lamela is scoring for Argentina because he was fantastic for Spurs last season. Massive improvement.— Joshua Doyle (@mrjoshuadoyle) June 19, 2016
@ariellec I half expect the US defense to shut Messi down and then Lamela scores to win and I go home and weep into my Spurs scarf.— Tobias Carroll (@TobiasCarroll) June 19, 2016
I've rated Lamela longer than many Spurs fans have— 5 DAYS (@ClockMerchant) June 19, 2016
I love Lamela so much. His time at Spurs is the definition of a roller coaster.— Ben (@benmathias01) June 19, 2016
lamela is a really good player one bad season with spurs doesn't change that so underrated— Walshy (@Walshyy_) June 19, 2016
Lamela's resurgence continues. He enjoyed an excellent season with Tottenham, continuing to win back some of the fans he had lost following a dismal first year in North London.
But working under compatriot Mauricio Pochettino seems to have brought the best out of the former Roma man, who joined Spurs for a reported £25 million in 2013.
