Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore has suggested on that he has not been impressed with Dele Alli’s performances for England at the ongoing European Championship so far.

The Tottenham midfielder is one of the best and most talented players in the current England squad.

Much was expected of the 20-year-old heading into the tournament in France, but the youngster has not played as well as he did for Tottenham in the Premier League last season.

The former Milton Keynes Dons midfielder has created three chances in two matches for England at the Euro 2016 finals so far this summer.

Alli has a pass accuracy of 79%, and has won four headers, six dribbles and two tackles.

Collymore has made the worrying observation that the Tottenham midfielder is tired, both mentally and physically.

“Alli looks a little fatigued both mentally and physically – it’s his rookie season so we shouldn’t be too hard on him – but I thought the dynamism we’ve seen so often this season was lacking, and let’s not forget in the position he’s playing in he’s there to be a goal threat, creator and grafter, and against the Welsh I only really saw the latter,” Collymore wrote about Alli on

Alli is arguably the most talented young player in the Premier League, and as Collymore says, one should not be too harsh on him.

However, it could be worrying for Tottenham fans that the youngster looks tired. The 20-year-old played 33 Premier League matches for Spurs last season and featured in nine Europa League games.

Perhaps Alli does need rest soon.
