Quoted by the Express, Arsene Wenger has insisted there will only be another two more signings at Arsenal this summer.

Fans are expecting them to be busy after a disappointing season last year, with many believing that several big signigns are needed at the club.

The Gunners boss has already secured midfielder Granit Xhaka in a £30million plus deal from Borussia Monchengladbach.

They also made a bid for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy but all indications are that he will reject the offer of the move to the Emirates.

Should that happen, Wenger is likely to turn his attentions elsewhere with his side in need of a top striker this summer.

However, he has insisted that there will only be a maximum of two more players arriving this summer.

“We’ve already bought one player – Granit Xhaka – from Monchengladbach, because we’ve lost three players,” the Express reports him saying.

“So we’ve bought one midfielder and we’re still in the market to buy one or two more players. But it is not easy. you buy too many players you destabilise your team. So three is the maximum.”

It will now be interesting to see what players Wenger targets should Vardy turn them down as expected.

His latest statement could be seen as a negative but Arsenal fans should actually view it as a positive.

With just another two signings being targeted, the likelihood is that they will be big money arrivals, which should see the big names they want arriving at the club.
