Report: Edin Dzeko rejects Sunderland move

Roma striker Edin Dzeko has rejected the chance to move to Sunderland this summer, reports

The striker has only been at the Italian side for a year, having made the move from Manchester City last summer.

It has not been a good season for him, though, as he managed just 10 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions.

According to Gianluca di Marzio, Sunderland had made an offer of £11million for Dzeko, as well as offering the former City striker wages of £140,000 per week.

Unfortunately for Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce, the striker has rejected that offer outright after talks with Roma boss Luciano Spalletti about his future, according to

Instead, Dzeko is (reportedly) determined to make his make his mark in Serie A, and he has made it clear that he will only consider moving on should one of the big sides chase him this summer.

The news will come as a blow to the Black Cats, who are interested in signing West Ham striker Diafra Sakho this summer, as reported by The Daily Mail.
