Newcastle United are hoping to have completed their first signing before June 28 when the squad returns for pre-season training, according to the Chronicle.

So far there have been no new arrivals at the club but they are continuing to work on transfer targets ahead of the new season.
No new signings are imminent at the club, but they are holding talks with several players and are anticipating ‘significant changes’ in the squad this summer.
And according to the Chronicle, they are hoping to have their first move completed before the players return on June 28th.

What work that Rafa Benitez needs to do will likely rest on how many of his players leave this summer.
The likes of Mousa Sissoko and Georginio Wijnaldum have both been heavily linked exits, the Frenchman in particular being very vocal in his desire to make a move elsewhere.
Should both leave, which looks likely, then that would naturally change the Spaniard’s plans for his squad this summer.
