Former Olympiacos and Marseille boss Michel is the frontrunner for the Nottingham Forest managerial job, according to The Nottingham Post.

It has been reported by the British newspaper that Forest now have two preferred candidates for the vacant managerial role at the City Ground.

Michel is reported to be the frontrunner for the job. The former Real Madrid midfielder parted company from French club Marseille in April of this year and is without a managerial job at the moment.

With players due to return for pre-season training soon, it is time that Forest make a managerial appointment.

The Reds are one of the biggest clubs of England, and they need to get things sorted before long.

It is hard to see Forest push for a playoff spot in the Championship next season, but fans should be optimistic of ending up in the top 10 during the 2016-17 campaign.

There are some good players in the current Forest squad, such as Henri Lansbury, Britt Assombalonga and Dorus de Vries, and perhaps a few decent signings in the summer transfer window would be helpful.
