Southampton have added Claude Puel to their list of potential managerial targets, reports the Telegraph.

The Saints are looking for their next manager after Ronald Koeman finally completed his move to Everton this week.

A number of name have already been named as potential replacements for the Dutchman at the club, with the process unlikely to be a quick one.

The club are certain to explore all of their options thoroughly before deciding on who should be the next man to lead them forward.

They will have a shortlist of names already drawn up, and according to the Telegraph former Monaco and Lyon manager Puel is among those being considered.

The club want a manager who encourages a high-pressing and passing style, which both Koeman and Mauricio Pochettino have employed in the last few years.

They are also looking for someone with a willingness to promote young players and, ideally, experience of European football.

Executive director of football Les Reed is in charge of the search and has identified Puel as a potential candidate, alongside the likes of Vitor Pereira and Manuel Pellegrini.
