Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claims Chelsea target Radja Nainggolan is poised to sign an improved deal at AS Roma, scuppering hopes of a move to Stamford Bridge.

Italy boss Antonio Conte, who will take over the helm at the former Champions League winners at the end of the summer, is understood to have made the Belgian one of his top transfer targets, with recent reports suggesting that talks over a potential deal had already begun.

According to the Daily Express, the 28-year-old rejected the Italian's advances when he was in charge at Juventus, and now looks to have decided against a move to England.

Corriere dello Sport claims the midfielder's deal at Roma will still run until 2020 but will include improved terms that could potentially take his yearly earnings to £3.1 million.
