Celtic youngster Ryan Christie has claimed he has no regrets over his move to Celtic and reaffirmed his commitment to the club, in an interview with celticfc.net.

The 21-year old arrived from Inverness CT last summer but was sent back on loan with a view to getting another season of first-team football under his belt.

Things didn’t go to plan however, with a knee injury forcing his early return to Parkhead and ultimate cancelation of the loan, and despite making only five appearances last season, Christie is content with his decision.

“Overall, looking back, I’ve got no regrets about coming to Celtic,” said the Hoops midfielder.

“I’m very happy with the way I’ve progressed and with the way last season finished I went on my holidays in a good mood so I’m looking forward to this season.

“I’m more determined now. To get a start and play in the last two games made me feel I have a future here. I’m going to try my best to stay at Celtic... I see my future at Celtic and I really want to be a big part of the team this year,” he added.

Christie faces stiff competition to break into Celtic’s midfield but his strong end to the season will have boosted his confidence no end and the coming months will be crucial for his prospects at Parkhead.

The arrival of Brendan Rodgers and the clean slate that comes with a change of manager will be further motivation to give it his all during pre-season and force his way into the new manager’s plans.

Christie arrived highly-rated from Inverness and he will be expecting to start contributing to the first-team sooner rather than later.
