The Argentine has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, among others, recently.
Argentine attacker Jonathan Calleri has been speaking about his future, as reports of renewed interest from Tottenham Hotspur emerged this week.
An exclusive report from Tutto Mercato Web reported that there would soon be an offer from Tottenham for the Deportivo Maldonado owned player.
He is with the Uruguayan minnows as part of his third-party ownership – technically he is on loan at Brazilian side Sao Paulo.
He was however in Europe this week, leading to suggestions he was there to receive documentation for a move to England.
However, as reported by A Tarde, he has denied this and commented on his future with the Brazilian side:
"I hit the renewal for another month in the last days. My contract runs until the end of the Libertadores. Then I will talk with the leaders about how my situation is."
"I have no contract with any club, much has been said about this, but I have nothing. I am very happy at Sao Paulo. I want to thank the comrades, the leaders and the coaching staff. I feel good here at the club.”
Calleri has been linked with a long list of European teams, on top of Tottenham, who themselves have been linked with a long list of attacking options.
The 22-year-old former Boca Juniors player has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances since joining up with Sao Paulo and it is therefore no wonder why teams from across the continent are on the hunt for the player.
For the time being however it seems as though they will need to play the waiting game.
