Feghouli has joined West Ham on a free transfer after leaving Spanish club Valencia at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The Algeria international winger will enhance the quality of the current Hammers’ squad and will be expected to create a lot of chances next season.
Gold is confident that West Ham have made a good signing in the 26-year-old, and hopes that he makes an impact similar to that of his Algeria international teammate Mahrez.
Mahrez scored 17 goals and created 67 chances in 37 league matches for Leicester during the 2015-16 campaign.
“We all saw what Riyad Mahrez did for Leicester last season and we hope that Sofiane can have a similar impact,” Gold wrote on West Ham’s official website.
“Mahrez was one of the star performers in the Premier League and was rewarded when he won the PFA Player of the Year Award.
“Anyone who can show that kind of form deserves to be part of a successful team and he played such a key role in helping Leicester win the title.”
Feghouli scored one goal and created 26 chances in 21 La Liga appearances for Valencia last season.
During the 2014-15 campaign, the Algeria international winger scored six goals and created 27 chances in 32 league matches.
