Reports in Austria are suggesting that Aston Villa youngster Anes Omerovic has left the club to head back to his Austrian homeland.

The official website of Floridsdorfer AC have reported that the talented 18-year-old Omerovic has joined the Austrian club, who play in the second tier of Austrian football.

The move will come as a surprise to many, as he was not featured on Villa’s released list this summer and was seemingly a talented player in their youth ranks.

He first joined the club in 2014, joining from AKA Vorarlberg. His arrival looked like a positive move from Villa, who had signed themselves an Austrian under-16 international central midfielder who clearly had a chance of going places at Bodymoor Heath.

When he signed he was quoted by Sky Sports as stating:

"It was always my dream to play in England.

"The fact that I'm now going there is just sensational and gorgeous of course."

Since his move to Villa Omerovic has remained a figure of the Austrian youth set-up, playing up to under-18 level, and has looked a definite talent. Despite this it would appear that Villa have not managed to keep hold of him and Onerovic will now be looking for some regular first-team football back home.
