According to RMC Sport, Southampton and Stoke City are stepping up their interest in Adam Ounas.

The French publication claims that as many as six clubs are tracking the highly-rated Bordeaux winger, with Southampton and Stoke contacting the player and planning bids in the region of £8 million.

The 19-year-old only made his breakthrough for French side Bordeaux 12 months ago and went on to make as many as 19 Ligue 1 appearances this past season, scoring five goals in the process.

Blessed with pace, trickery and a directness similar to Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, many are excited over the potential which Ounas possesses and a big move away has been strongly mooted.

French-born but with Algerian links, Ounas has gathered a host of clubs interested in his services, although it appears Premier League duo Southampton and Stoke are leading the race.

The Saints have the basis of a very good squad and they are in a position to now sign Europe’s top youngsters, despite currently being manager-less following Ronald Koeman’s exit.
