Glasgow Rangers are expecting to wrap up the signing of veteran defender Clint Hill over the next 24 hours, according to the Scottish Sun.

Hill is due in Glasgow tomorrow (Friday) the paper report, to undergo a medical before completing a move.

The centre-back will be a surprise addition to the Rangers back line but will see one familiar face when he signs, ex-QPR teammate Joey Barton.

Barton signed for Rangers earlier this summer and played alongside Hill between 2011 and 2015.

Hill is 37-years-old and is only expected to sign a one year deal at Rangers, who are looking to strengthen at the back after returning to the top flight.

He played 13 times for QPR last season in the Championship, scoring once, and providing three assists. Just a year earlier he made 19 appearances in England's Premier League.

Last season he won an average of four aerial duels per game, putting him inside the top 30 defenders in the Championship in that category.

Hill has experience of competing for top places in a division, having helped QPR to promotion on two occasions, and Gers fans will hope that know-how comes in handy as they look to get straight into the title hunt upon returning to the Premiership after a four year absence.
