Pedro Pereira has become the new sporting director at the City Ground.
He took the role in the same week that he left his similar post at Italian side Fiorentina.

Speaking to Viola News the Portuguese has confirmed that the Florence club wanted to keep him on board but that he decided the time was right to leave the club this summer, stating:
“Fiorentina wanted me to stay, it's no secret. The decision was mine and I have not changed, and it was the best for all components. During this year I have learned so many things that have changed me as a professional."

Pereira is a well-respected name in the game and his decision to leave Fiorentina for Forest should be seen as a very good sign ahead of the future at the club – especially with his previous record in recruitment.
Now the club must make sure they back his ideas by backing him with the right manager to work in such a system and by ensuring he is sufficiently backed in the transfer market to bring in the right players to take Forest forward in the 2016-17 campaign.
Forest are still on the lookout for a new manager after the sacking of Dougie Freedman in March and have been linked with a long list of potential candidates.
