The former Celtic and Bolton Wanderers boss is working as a pundit for BBC Sport in France.
Lennon has revealed that he will hold talks with Cummings in France in order to discuss his future.
The Hibernian boss has also claimed that Turkish side Trabzonspor and other clubs are interested in signing Cummings in the summer transfer window.
“I’m hoping to persuade him to stay for at least another season,” Lennon told The Scottish Sun. “That is the intention over the next few days.
“He’s never met me before, so it will be nice to see what his personality traits are like and what he is thinking himself.
“Trabzonspor have come out and said they are interested in him, plus I know there is interest from a few other clubs.”
Cummings is one of the best young footballers in Scotland and was in good form for Hibernian last season.
The Scotland Under-21 international forward scored as many as 25 goals and helped the Scottish Championship outfit win the Scottish Cup.
The youngster has been on the books of Hibernian his entire professional career so far and has a contract until June 2017.
