A late goal from Daniel Sturridge sealed a 2-1 win for England.
Wales' Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale has taken to Twitter to react to Wales’ defeat to England on Thursday afternoon.
Chris Coleman’s side were left heartbroken in the clash with their fierce rivals as a last gasp goal from Daniel Sturridge sealed all three points for England.
They had initially been in the lead, courtesy of a long-range free kick finding its way past Joe Hart.
Roy Hodgson introduced Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge at half time though, and they proved to be the difference, grabbing both goals to snatch the win from Wales.
Nonetheless, it was an impressive performance from the Welsh, and Bale reacted as such on Twitter.
He was not the only Wales stars to offer their thoughts either as Hal Robson-Kanu, Dave Edwards and Chris Gunter also tweeted.
You lot are inspirational. Words wouldn't do you fans justice. So simply see you Monday. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/o5lemwsgoF— Chris Gunter (@Chrisgunter16) June 16, 2016
Chris Coleman must now get his side refocused for their final group game against Russia, with a place in the knockout stages very much in their own hands.
A win over the Russians will see them progress, which will be a fine achievement in itself and help to quickly dissipate any disappointment following the loss to England.
