Could Glasgow Rangers have signed a better option than Clint Hill?

Rangers have taken the 37-year-old to Ibrox, but could Mark Warburton have done better?

QPR's Clint Hill

Glasgow Rangers have made yet another move for an English player today, with Clint Hill arriving from QPR.

Rangers have snapped up plenty of players from south of the border already this summer. Most look like good deals. Rangers have acquired Joey Barton off the back of a brilliant campaign at Burnley, Jordan Rossiter looks a talent from Liverpool and Josh Windass and Matt Crooks the same at Accrington Stanley.

Glasgow Rangers also needed to bring in defensive reinforcements and in that respect Hill is a good addition.

However, perhaps there were better options out on the market.

Rangers are of course not blessed with money and therefore need to bring in a central defender on a budget but Hill, at 37-years-old, has not been at his best for some time and QPR barely used him throughout last season – with Hill playing just 13 times in the Championship.

Rangers could surely have found younger and better options to bring to Ibrox at around the same price as Hill.

They have snapped him up and hopefully Mark Warburton is on to a winner with the arrival of the experienced centre-back.

But it just seems that Rangers could have lured a better option to Glasgow this summer.
