According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sell midfielder Nabil Bentaleb to make room for new signings, like Southampton's Victor Wanyama.

Spurs have yet to make a new signing in the summer transfer window, but one of their players appears to be attracting interest from elsewhere.

Sky Italia's GIanluca Di Marzio reported earlier this week that midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is a major target for Italian side Napoli after a frustrating season at White Hart Lane.

The Algerian international, 21, made just five Premier League appearances for Spurs this past season, amounting to only 158 minutes of action - and he played just seven games in other competitions.

Bentaleb only signed a new contract until 2020 at White Hart Lane last summer, but it seems that an exit could be on the cards this summer.

The Daily Mail report that Tottenham would be willing to let Bentaleb leave in order to make room for a new signing, believed to be Southampton's Victor Wanyama.

The Kenyan international became a favourite of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino during their time together at Southampton, and reports suggest a deal could be close to reunite the pair.

The Mirror claimed last weekend that an £11m deal is in the pipeline, and Spurs could recoup much of that figure by selling Bentaleb this summer - but the Algerian's time may be seen as a missed opportunity having looked so impressive during the 2014/15 campaign, only to fall flat this past season.
