Winger Liam Feeney had spent last season on loan at the Tractor Boys
Liam Feeney will leave Bolton at the end of the season
Ipswich Town are set to miss out on free agent Liam Feeney, as he is set to join Blackburn Rovers when his contract with Bolton Wanderers expires at the end of the month, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
Feeney spent last season the back of end of last season on loan at Portman Road, making 7 appearances in blue after he escaped the free-falling Bolton.

And with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, it was widely expected that the Feeney would take up the chance to join Mick McCarthy’s side permanently.
Ipswich are currently unable to boast a single out and out winger, as Ryan Fraser and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have returned to their parent clubs, whilst Jay Tabb, Larsen Toure and Cameron Stewart have all been either released or transfer listed.

Ex West Ham United prodigy Freddie Sears found himself playing outwide for much of the season, but he is by trade a striker.
But it appears that Ipswich will be pipped to the post for Feeney by Owen Coyle’s Blackburn Rovers.

Coyle took over at Rovers earlier in the month, and has already set upon the task of rebuilding the squad at Ewood Park.
Eight players were released by the club at the end of the season, including Nathan Delfouneso, Tommy Spurr and Simeon Jackson.
